Prof. Olga Kosareva, from Physics Faculty & International Laser Center, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, visited C-UFO on 29th June, 2016, and gave a public talk on “Fusion of Regularized Femtosecond Filaments: towards the efficient energy deposition into air”. Prof. Huai-Liang Xu hosted the talk.
Prof. Olga Kosareva defended her PhD in 1995 at International Laser Center of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Prof. O. G. Kosareva was the first one who developed the model and the computer code to describe the self-consistent physical piture of femtosecond laser pulse filamentation in air and the accompanying phenomena. In 2012, she got the highest scientific qualification in Russia, which is State Doctor of Physics and Math Science.Prof. Olga Kosareva is a leading world-recognized scientist in the field of filamentation and femtosecond laser pulse propagation in transparent media. She defended her PhD in 1995 at the Faculty of Physics of M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University, got the Diploma of the highest scientific qualification in Russia – the State Doctor of Physics and Math Sciences in 2013. Currently Olga Kosareva is Full Professor at the Faculty of Physics, M.V.Lomonosov Moscow State University. Olga’s current interest is terahertz and mid-infrared radiation from femtosecond filaments, efficient energy deposition into the medium by means of ultrashort pulses and tight focusing of light onto the target.
