Prof. Lin Li, FREng, from Laser Processing Research Centre (LPRC), University of Manchester, UK visited C-UFO on 21th October, 2013 and gave the public talk on "Particle lens array for nanofabrication and super-resolution imaging". Prof. Hong-Bo Sun hosted the talk.
Prof. Li is a word-renowned expert on laser-based advanced manufacturing processes used in welding, cutting, drilling, additive manufacturing, micro/nano fabrication and surface engineering and his work has applications across a range of industry sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical and security industries.
Prof. Li is the author and co-author of over 500 publications in peer reviewed journals and proceedings of international conference in lase processing science and technology, and advanced manufacturing. He is the inventor/co-inventor of 47 patents relating to laser processing technology. Prof. Li received Arthur Charles Main Award from the institute of Mechanical Engineers in 2001 for work in lase based nuclear decommissioning technology and recived Sir Frank Whittle Medal form Royal Academy of Engineering in 2013 for engineering innovations in manufacturing. He is a charted engineer and has been elected to Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering, Fellow of Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), Fellow of Laser Institute of America (LIA), Fellow of international Academy of Production Engineering (CIRP) and Fellow of international Association of Nanomanufacturing.
